Creating Tournaments:

  1. Click on the create tournament link.

 

  1. Choose tournament format: single elimination, double elimination or swiss system.

  2. For double elimination, Click here
    For swiss style, Click here

 

  1. Select a date from calendar.

 

  1. Select a time slot.

 

  1. Tournament Settings:

a)      Name of tournament is optional

 

b)      Location is decent digs and the game you are playing. Eg: decent digs-100 gin only

 

c)      For single elimination set rounds to 8. For double elimination set rounds to 6. Swiss rounds will be explained later.

 

d)      Minutes between rounds set to 10 or 15 doesn’t really matter.

 

e)      For 1vs1 the number of  players per team is 1. For tag change the number of players to 2. If you want teams of 3 then change to 3 etc. If you want a random tag click the random teams box.

 

f)        To make an invitational tourney which is used for Tournament of Champions click the invitational only box.

 

g)      There are 3 options for ladderbux. Choose one and then create tournament.

 

h)      You can open check in for tournament 1 day before time.

 

  1. Swiss Style Tournaments: There are 2 types of swiss tournaments: regular and true. Regular means that once there is one team left undefeated the tournament is over. True swiss means that the team with most wins after set rounds are done is the winner. To select a true swiss tourney click the box that says true swiss. In true swiss set the number of rounds to the number of rounds you want to have. For regular swiss the number of rounds can be set to 9.

 

  1. To donate bux to a tournament click on edit tourney info.

 

  1. When creating an invitational tournament, you need to invite those members who are qualified for tournament. To do this go to the main page of your tournament and click on register like you were registering for a tournament. Put in the persons league name and your td pw and you can add a comment if you like. Then it register.

 

Customizing Rules:

 

Click on customize rules link

 In large box - type in rules  (for example)

 

100 GIN ONLY - NO EARLY KNOCKING<BR>

RATE AND PROTECT TABLES<BR>

NO KIBBY<BR>

10 MIN TIMER ON REBOOTS OR MIAZ - 5 MIN DURING BLITZ OR HALF HOUR TOURNEYS<BR>

ANY PROBS INVITE TD<BR>

TD MAKES ALL FINAL CALLS<BR>

 

 

At the bottom of that page is Submit DEFAULT - if you click on this...then when you make new tourneys, the rules will be there...all you have to do is change the game to whatever you are planning.

For tag tournies tables are unrated and timer set only if the whole team is missing.

For swiss tournies the timer is set at 5 min per round for a total of 10 mins.

 

 

Administering Tournaments:

 

  1. Advertise your tourney jump # in lobby. When it is your turn to host, announce last call and do rules in the lobby.

 

  1. Click the close registration link on tourney admin page. Then click the close check in link.

 

  1. For single elim tourneys:

 

a)      Click the round link to see the pairings. Announce pairings in lobby.

 

b)      To report match click the round link and then click on the winning players name or team name

 

c)      If you mess up a report, you can just go back to round and click on the correct winner.

 

d)      After finals is over you will have a series of links in order to close out tournament.

 

 

  1. For swiss style tourneys:

a)      Click on the round to see the pairings. Announce pairings in lobby.

 

b)      After each round you will get new pairings. Cases will come up with these and you need to accept them. If you see a pairing highlighted in blue this means these 2 teams have already played. You can change the pairings around so that there are no duplicated matches. Then accept the pairings.

 

c)      After finals is over you will have a series of links in order to close out tournament.

 

 

  1. For double elimination tourneys:

 

a)      Click on report match link to see the pairings. Announce pairings in lobby.

 

b)      To report match click the report match link and then click the circle of the winning player or team name.

 

c)      If you mess up a report, click on the adjust match link. Look for the match in the standings you messed up and click the circle of the correct winner of that match. Then hit adjust match.

 

d)      After finals is over there will be a series of links in order to close out tournament.

 

 

Decorating Pages:

 

  1. You need to have a web site. If you are a platinum or diamond member cases supplies you with a website to upload files to use for tourney pages. To access this page, click on user editor on main page then platinum/diamond membership then user homepage. If you are not a platinum or diamond member and do not have your own web site, you can go to http://www1.domaindlx.com/ and sign up for a free web site.

 

  1. Find the images,backgrounds,music,etc that you want to put on your page and download them to your computer.

 

  1. Upload these files to your web site.

 

  1. Click on the customize layout link on the tourney admin page.

 

  1. Here are the html codes for adding images, backgrounds and music to your pages.

 

a)      For images the code is <img srcyourfilename”>

b)      For backgrounds the code is <body background=”yourfilename”>

c)      For music the code is <bgsound srcyourfilename” loop=”-1”>

 

  1. Yourfilename is for example if your web site name is http://www.ginden.freeservers.com and the file name is hello.gif yourfilename would be http://www.ginden.freeservers.com/hello.gif

 

  1. These codes are only needed if you use the custom html. For Top image link and Background image you only need to put your file name as stated above. In order for the top image link to show on tourney page you must go to edit tourney info and put a title for the tourney.

 

  1. You may also use the ezpicker offered by cases to decorate your pages. They offer images for the top image and also for background. This is found on the customize layout page. There is a dropdownmenu for each.
