TD Guidelines
GENERAL
Ø
All TD’s
will refer any questions to TD managers or admin if a TD Manager is not
available. You can contact TD managers or admin by clicking on the staff link
above.
Ø
All league members are
eligible to apply to become a TD once they have played 25 games.
Ø
All TD’s
will be under training status until a Training Staff has run a tournament
with them.
Ø
All TD’s
will be on an initial 30 day trial period. Within these 30 days each td MUST complete one of each tourney (single elim,
double elim, swiss and tag). TD’s behavior and how many tournaments they run will also
be watched. After the 30 days is up, they will be evaluated. If training is
needed for any of the tournament contact the Training Staff and they will
find someone to help you.
Ø
TD’s are required to run at least 3 tournaments a week and HTD's at least 5 tournies a week unless they have a valid reason. Valid reasons will only be accepted before time and not after you recieve a warning. If you are on exempt and constantly play in tournies and do not host, the reason for hosting will be deemed invalid. 1st offense for TD's will be a warning. 2nd offense will be a removal. 1st offense for HTD will be a warning. 2nd offense will be a move to TD status. 3rd offense will be a removal.
Ø
All TD’s are required to run at least 1 special tournament every 3 months.
Ø
If a TD needs to go
vacation or active exempt, they need to contact an Admin or TD manager.
Ø
TD decisions in
tournaments are final. Admin and TD Managers will not over
ride a TD’s decision made in a tournament. This is to
ensure that the league members know that the TD’s are
in control and knowledgeable. Admin may advise a TD before a decision is made.
This saves constant complaints to admin after the fact. If all TD’s follow the same guidelines this should not be an
issue. This also insures that all TD's are respected
for their ability.
Ø
In this league, we
require that TD’s only be a TD in this gin league. Those that are TD’s in another
gin league will not be eligible to become a TD.
TOURNAMENTS
SCHEDULING
Ø
All tournaments must be
scheduled using the following guidelines unless they are a special event or
have otherwise been given permission.
Ø
Tournaments can be scheduled
for every half hour and started on time as long as 4 people are in. Use common sense and good judgement.
Ø
Please try to schedule
in advance as much as possible.
Ø
DO NOT SCHEDULE A
HIGH POINT TOURNAMENT TOO CLOSE TO A DAILY OR SPECIAL EVENTS. Special event tournaments are generally bigger tournaments
that take longer amounts of time. Do not schedule a high pt tournament that may
interfere with an event. Events are for fun and enjoyment and help bring in new
leaguers. They have first priority in scheduling.
Ø
Do not delete tournaments unless there is a problem with it that cannot
be fixed.
RESERVED
TIME SLOTS
Ø
Tags are held everyday
at
Ø
A special event
calendar will be sent to all TD’s at the beginning of
each month. These times are reserved. Any TD can help run one of these special
events. If you would like to run one of the special events, contact the Scheduling Coordinators.
Ø
If you have an idea for
a special event or have a new idea for a tournament, contact the Events Team. If you would like something on main page contact Nut a few days in
advance so he can make sure it is on main page.
TIMERS
Ø
Regular tournaments
have a 10 min timer.
Ø
Blitz tournaments have
a 5 min timer.
Ø
Swiss tournaments have
a 5 min timer per round, 10 min total timer.
Ø
Tag tournaments have a
10 min timer only if the team is missing or booted. If one member of team is
missing the other one shall play. There are no substitutes.
Ø
All timers are
accumulated. TD’s will note that timers are on and
off so there is no confusion.
Ø
Tourneys will start
on time as long as 4 people are in. Use your judgement and
communicate with TD hosting.
RULES and DQ
Ø
All tournaments must
have a matching rules page to avoid conflict during the tournament. It is a
player’s responsibility to read rules given on pages and in the lobby. In the
event of a DQ you have this behind you for support. All games that result in DQ
shall be cancelled. There are no force forfeits.
MISSED
TOURNAMENTS
Ø
A TD should try not to
miss any scheduled tournament but we all know that sometimes life intervenes
and it can not be helped. If you know you are going to miss a scheduled tourney
well before game time please MOVE that tourney to another day or time. DO
NOT DELETE it. If you have to unexpectedly miss a tournament close to
game time please try to get an HTD to cover for you. DO NOT DELETE IT.
Ø
NO SHOWS - TD Manager and HTD’s reserve the
right to move a tournament and create another in its place if a TD is a no
show. This can be done as soon as 5 minutes before tourney time if necessary.
TD Manager and HTD’s may change point values or game
types on tournaments if necessary on no show TD’s.
Tournaments should only be moved if this is a chronic habit of the no show TD. Special
Events and Daily Events should be run by an HTD if at all possible to keep the
events calendar consistent and reliable.
Ø
If you miss a tourney
and do not make arrangements with a HTD or TD manager (basically if you are a
NO-SHOW), you will receive a warning, these will be kept track of. If you
receive 3 warnings within a 30 day period your TD status may be removed. If you
are an HTD and receive 3 warnings you will be placed back to TD. Sometimes
there are unforeseen things that can come up in your life and may cause you to
miss a tourney, if this is the case, after you receive the warning from the
TDM, feel free to respond to the warning with an explanation and it will be
taken into consideration.
TD’s who consistently miss tournaments or who show
misconduct during a tournament may be removed at the TD Mangers or Admin’s discretion.
Ø
For Head TD’s - If you cover
a tourney for a no show TD or HTD send an email to TD manager with the date,
time of tourney and the TD or HTD whose tourney it was. Do this only if it is a
no show, not if arrangements were already made.
